Siesta Key
Many years ago Siesta Key was known as “Sarasota Key” or “little Sarasota Island”. The area was home to a few local families who fished. Siesta key is now the island gateway for fun in the sun and relaxing on the powder soft sandy beach that is ranked #2 in the US and #9 in the world by according to TripAdvisor:2023 Traveler’s Choice Awards.
Paradise is found on the Southwest coast of Florida with stunning views and fun times along the 8-mile-long island, which is just a short bridge crossing west of Sarasota.
Visitors can enjoy soft waves, cool breezes,and various amenities. Visitors can park in the large parking area, enjoy concessions, and take advantage of the complementary trolley toview the sites on the island, and Siesta Key Village located nearby offers much to enjoy daily, as well as a vibrant night scene with its restaurants and bars that feature live entertainment with many talented musicians.
Siesta Key offers a range of accommodation for guests. For those who want to make the area home there is much to offer from condominiums to luxurious homes and bungalows.
A little over 3,000 years ago the changes to the shoreline formed barrier islands that began emerging from Gulf in a process known as shoaling. Over time, Siesta Key as it is known today formed by the combination of pressure from the ocean along with the abundance of Appalachian sand that was transported by longshoreman used to build up the key with beach-dune ridges all along the coast.
